French Mid 19th Century Clock Garinture Set
Clock A hand painted porcelain dial, shown as segments to emulate inlaid porcelain panels, with quatrefoil forms and porcelain dots. At the interior edge of the dial center. is a continuous gold gilt circle segment, inset with round cabochons of persian turquoise. The dials's center features a rose bouquet, on the flanks of dead center, reside two putti draped in a flowing garments Below six inset in the case is is a pastoral scene hand painted on a porcelain plaque, above twelve a semi-circle porcelain hand painted plaque resides, featuring a tribute to music, encompassing various instruments. An approximate 85 mm japy type movement, striking on the hour and half-hour. A very heavy gilt bronze case, with decorative columns, separating the clock body from the base and top plate, with a decorative finial at the acme. A pair of four light candelabra of gilt bronze, with separate bobaches, are used to flank the clock.. The knops are pink painted porcelain, with an open oval area, for hand painted scenes, with a gold edge, featuring inset cabochon rounds of persian turquoise. The scenes are different, one showing toddlers building a fire, the other presenting nude innocents fishing. Glass back plate, no dial crystal. No winding key present. Included are three gilt wood plateaus, upon which the elements rest.
